Do I need multiple sensors?

The same sensor can simultaneously monitor temperature and humidity and alert when important trigger points have been reached.

You need multiple sensors when you have multiple remote locations. For example, to monitor your garage and your basement, you will need two sensors. Control and receive alerts from unlimited sensors under one easy-to-manage account. (All accounts are free, no fees or subscriptions)

What is the Temp Stick WiFi range?

All Temp Sticks have a WiFi range of 300-400 ft (unobstructed). Doors, walls, floors and other obstructions can impact this range. The sensor contains state-of-the-art "safe wall" penetrating WiFi technology that is designed to work on nearly every type of safe, refrigerator, freezer, walk-in cooler etc. If there are Wi-Fi signal challenges at the location where you place a Temp Stick then we advise to consider solutions such as adding a Wi-Fi range extender to enhance connectivity.

Temp Stick PRO: Using the external probe's 6ft wire allows strategic placement of the probe inside the freezer while keeping the main unit outside, optimizing Wi-Fi signal reception.

Does this work with a WiFi hotspot?

Yes. The sensor connects to any open WiFi network or network you have access to, including mobile hotspots (like a Verizon JetPack).

Please note, if you plan on using an iPad or iPhone to provide a hotspot, many Apple iPad and iPhone users find these types of hotspots are unreliable and will switch off after just 1 to 90 minutes of inactivity.

What if the connection is lost?

If the sensor loses its internet (WiFi) connection, it will continue to log data and automatically re-connect when the connection is available again. You can receive an alert when the Temp Stick loses and regains connection to the internet.

Is there an ethernet port?

There are no ethernet ports on the Temp Stick sensor. A wireless internet connection (WiFi) is required.

How is Temp Stick powered?

Energizer Ultimate Lithium AA Batteries (Included):

Recommended for extreme heat and freezer applications: Lithium batteries perform even in the most extreme temperatures, making lithium batteries perfect for extremely cold or hot conditions where alkaline batteries typically cease to function. AC Power with AA Batteries as Back Up:

Temp Stick +Power and Temp Stick PRO models run on AC power (micro-usb) or 2xAA battery power. When plugged in, AC power is used by default. Temp Stick seamlessly switches to battery if AC power is interrupted. Create power outage and recovery alerts for these events in the app. Included with Temp Stick +Power and Temp Stick PRO is a Micro-USB power cable (6 ft), AC adapter & 2x AA batteries.

How quickly are alerts sent?

Temp Stick samples conditions every few seconds. The instant a threshold for one of your alerts is triggered, Temp Stick notifies our servers and you are sent alerts according to how you configure them in the app. You can change how frequently Temp Stick sends readings when conditions are normal and when they are triggered by an alert in the "Sensors" section of the app.

Can I alert multiple contacts?

Yes, you may have a total of ten contacts to receive alerts and notifications under one account. Additionally, customize which contacts receive specific alerts.

Can I customize alerts?

Yes, text and email alert messages can contain any mix of pre-written text and sensor data. Maximum message length is 140 characters.

Example 1: "The RV's temperature went above 80 F (currently 95.6 F)"

Example 2: "Brrr! The fridge is too cold, it's -10.2 F, save the cans of soda!"

Can I create more than one alert for the same sensor?

Yes, you can create many alerts triggers for temperature and humidity.
Use this feature to create alerts for different individuals or groups.

For example: If sensor temperature goes above 75° F, alert person A. Then, if temperature goes above 81° F, alert person A + B etc.

Can the sensor be calibrated?

No, the sensor is factory calibrated. But you can achieve "calibration like" synchronization with other instruments by increasing or decreasing the "calibration offset value" for your sensor.

For example: your home thermometer might typically read 50°F and Temp Stick might typically read 51.2°F. You can set the Temp Stick to offset the temperature by -1.2°F in its settings, this will change its readings to display with that offset and alerts will calculate using that offset.

Yes. You can export data for download as comma-separated values (CSV) files.

How do I attach Temp Stick?

Depending on your use of Temp Stick, wall mounting might not be necessary. Simply place it wherever you prefer to receive prompt alerts and monitor temperature & humidity.

You have the option to mount it to a wall easily with the provided command strip. It's lightweight and can stick to many wall surfaces. It even includes a lanyard if you wish to hang it.

For Temp Stick +Power and Temp Stick PRO models, there's an optional flexible wall mount. You can attach it to the wall using the provided command strip or screws and anchors to many wall surface.

Does Temp Stick operate in freezers?

All Temp Stick sensors operate efficiently in freezers and cold storage spaces, with a temperature range down to -40°F. Temp Stick is designed to function seamlessly in sub-zero temperatures, providing reliable temperature monitoring in fridges, freezers, and walk-in coolers.

Is Temp Stick waterproof?

No, the sensor is not waterproof. Temp Stick measures humidity (non-condensing moisture levels) from 0 to 90%.

Temp Stick PRO does include a waterproof temperature probe that may be used to monitor liquid temperatures such as pools or hot tubs.

When placing the Temp Stick outdoors please make sure to get the unit out of direct sunlight and not exposed to rain or snow.
